Come away for the weekend to work on your business plan or areas of concern so you have the 2024 year ready! We are excited to announce our upcoming Women in Business Getaway Workshop on 3rd and 4th February 2024 at the Auberge Hotel, Discovery Bay.

Our workshop is designed keeping in mind topics that would be beneficial to those in business, to take it to the next level. We have lined up experts who you will have the opportunity to listen to and interact through small group discussions. In addition to expert talks, you will participate in fun activities and share experiences with other like-minded entrepreneurs. The workshop will be held at Auberge, where you can relax and recharge while learning new tools and connecting with new members.

Anna Theresa Licaros, Executive Coach

Tere Licaros has been in the practice of law for over 10 years, and knows she still needs more practice. She has been with a well known financial institution since 2016 performing a wide range of roles in compliance, executive management, strategic execution and governance. Before banking, she worked in a full service law firm and an electric distribution utility. She was admitted to the Philippine legal practice in 2010 and in her sophomore year in law school she joined and won a local beauty pageant, eventually competing in Miss Universe 2007. While banking is her day job, she is also an executive coach at heart.

Ivy Wong Stephens, Meatmarket.hk

Ivy is a dynamic, entrepreneurial business management strategist with a 30+ year record of achievement, and demonstrated success driving multimillion-dollar sales growth while providing sales leadership in a highly competitive market.

Often described as an ‘innovative disrupter’ in the food e-commerce circles, her business, meatmarket.hk has been operating in Hong Kong for almost 20 years. Ivy’s biggest strength is that she is tenacious in building new businesses, innovating, securing customer loyalty, and forging strong relationships with external business partners both in her professional career and volunteer commitments.

    Sherryn Hancock, Founder & CEO, Sherryn Hancock & Co.

    Sherryn Hancock is an Australian CPA with almost 30 years' experience in Budgeting, Management Accounting, Costing and Accounting Procedures & Policies. Working with one of the largest financial institutions, Citi for over 11 years and ING Investment Management Regional Offices in Hong Kong led Sherryn to start her own business assisting individuals & SME's in creating their own budgeting / accounting processes and empowering them to have financial freedom.

    Sherryn is known for her ability to 'look at the whole picture'. Working with clients to understand their relationship with money and how this has affected their past actions in relation to finances.

    Zoe Leong, BKLT Law

    Zoe set up her own independent legal consulting firm in 2018 specifically to help startups and small businesses with legal matters ranging from contract terms to negotiating funding to employment matters. Her clients vary from fintechs to travel startups to physical gyms. Prior to that, Zoe worked for leading law firms and multi national companies as a litigation lawyer and then as an in-house legal counsel.

    Sharlene Jacquier, Joint Dynamics Ltd

    Although Sharlene is a founder and one of the ownership team of the health and wellness company - Joint Dynamics, to say she is a passionate founder would be a total misnomer. Sharlene was an unwilling entrepreneur, and the health and wellness space was not her calling (she's not even sporty!). She does not "do" anything that her company is known for but has become a successful, passionate and integral driver of the company's ongoing success.

    Her career foundations in process design and execution has been invaluable in the set-up and running of a Hong Kong company from an operational perspective. While Sharlene learned from doing, failing, and trying again we want you to take away key lessons to build successful operations in your own company (without the failing).

    Joanna Hotung, Founder of KG Group

    The founder of the KG Group in 1996, Joanna Hotung is a dedicated educator as well as entrepreneur, and a pioneer in creative learning. Through her businesses, she has had an influence over 80,000 students, and alumni are studying at prestigious universities or working in a wide range of fields worldwide. Over 26 years, she successfully scaled four brands across Asia and sold the Group in 2023 to private equity.

    Joanna is Chairperson Emeritus of Youth Diabetes Action, and a Board Member of The Women’s Foundation, Playright Children’s Play Association, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong. She has won several awards for her work and influence, including SCMP Woman of our Time and AmCham Entrepreneur of the Year.

    Joon Nak Choi, Associate Professor, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST)

    Joon Nak CHOI (JC) is Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Management; Advisor to the MSc in Business Analytics Program, Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics, and Operations Management; and Faculty Associate, Institute for Emerging Market Studies at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In addition to his academic appointments at HKUST, Professor Choi has also held professorships at Stanford University and NYU Shanghai.

    He is a member of HKUST’s Task Force on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence and formerly was a member of the Task Force on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, heading the Subcommittee on Incubation and Funding. He graduated from Brown with an AB in International Relations, Urban Studies, and Economics and from Stanford with an MA and a PhD in Sociology.Professor Choi has been involved with several startups. He was Chief Data Scientist for AssertID, which was spun out from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. After he returned to Hong Kong from a visiting professorship at Stanford, Professor Choi co-founded Zectr, which applied machine learning to automate survey-driven market research. More recently, he founded Learnovate, which is applying AI to education.

    ChauKei Ngai, the visionary behind YogaUP, is a trailblazing force as the founding director of this transformative practice. She possesses an unwavering dedication to empowering women, nurturing their inner strength, and creating a profound bond with them. Effortlessly juggling the roles of a devoted mother and a driven entrepreneur, her journey began with a degree in Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada, continuing her pursuit in Health Counseling and yoga studies, she delves deeper into the realm of supporting others in their journey towards improved well-being since 2006.
