The Helena May is honoured to have Mrs. Carrie Yau, GBS, JP, and former Executive Director of the Vocational Training Council, as our speaker at the International Women’s Day Lunch on 8th March.
Speaker Details:
Carrie Yau - GBS, JP, Former Executive Director, Vocational Training Council
Mrs. Yau started her career as an Administrative Officer in the Hong Kong government in 1977. During her more than 30 years of service, she covered major policy areas such as security, transport, building and lands, education and manpower, and health and food safety, as well as information technology and broadcasting. Her expertise and dedication in this wide range of areas exemplifies her adaptability and strong management ingenuity.
Throughout the many challenges and crises she faced during this time, Mrs. Yau learnt that “There is seldom a perfect solution round the corner at times of crisis. One can only make decisions based on the best evidence and the best interests and welfare of those to be affected”.
